Financing Weekday Religious Education (Statewide)
No public funds are used. Currently, twenty local councils are supported by donations from churches, civic organizations and interested individuals and together they are providing instruction to more than 11,000 students in Virginia. The Virginia Weekday Religious Education Association provides a state coordinator for the program and supplies secretarial assistance for the coordinator.
